Christmas brings glad tidings to York from 16 November until 23 December. And, for an extra seasonal treat, this year’s festive attraction in Paliament Street is a two storey pop-up Swiss style restaurant, Winter Hütte, by Michelin Starred Chef, Andrew Pern. With delicious food on the top deck and licensed bar at ground level, it is sure to be a popular choice with Christmas visitors to York. Winter Hütte is open daily until late, 17 Dec – 1 Jan 2023, conveniently close to the bus stop.

Ever popular, Thor’s magical Tipi moves to the gardens of the Principal York Hotel, adjacent to York Railway Station. Let’s take a look at other attractions around York Christmas Markets: It is a special time to visit York Minster for the Christmas Tree Festival, Carols or an Advent concert. Then there’s great seasonal entertainment at the city’s theatres. How about a Christmas Pantomime?

York Caravan Park is open until 1 January, so you can now enjoy the entire Christmas and New Year season just 2 miles from York City Centre. A regular bus from the caravan park entrance takes you to most parts of the city with a late evening service returning to the park. So there’s no need to worry about traffic, parking or treating yourself to another mulled wine…Happy Christmas!
