York Christmas Markets 2020

Choose York Caravan Park and Visit York Christmas Markets

Christmas brings glad tidings to York 12 Nov – 20 December. The city is transformed into a wonderland of glittering lights and Christmas music when the city’s markets are selling Christmas gifts and seasonal treats.

The traditional St Nicholas’ Christmas markets are not taking place in Parliament Square this year. When York switches its Christmas Lights on in November, there will be lots of festive decorations in the city, with more focus on local businesses and produce. Updates of the city’s plans will be published as they are announced.

    Visit York at Christmas

Can you can imagine the Shambles Market all beautifully decorated for Christmas? The Shambles Market’s festivities include choirs and speciality markets at weekends throughout December. Just take a look at what you can enjoy at York Christmas Markets:

And there’s so much more to Christmas in York than Christmas Markets and shopping. Barley Hall Medieval Town House opens its doors to show how York townsfolk would prepare Christmas Festivities in bygone days. It is also a special time to visit York Minster for a Christmas Carol or Advent concert. Then, there is seasonal entertainment at the city’s theatres, or how about a Christmas Pantomime?

York Caravan Park is open until 3 January, so you can now enjoy the entire Christmas and New Year season just 2 miles from York City Centre. A regular bus from the caravan park entrance takes you to most parts of the city with a late evening service returning to the park. So there’s no need to worry about traffic, parking or treating yourself to another mulled wine…Happy Christmas!
