We’re a really dog friendly touring caravan park here at York Caravan Park. There’s every facility to keep your dog happy on holiday in our countryside setting, just 2 miles from York centre. There’s a convenient on-site fenced dog walk, large grassed areas around our decorative lake and we’re conveniently close to local footpaths and dog-friendly pubs.

A Guide to Dog Friendly Attractions, Cafes and Pubs in York
In addition to the park’s on-site dog-walk, the Millennium Way footpath is just to the left of York Caravan Park’s entrance.
Dogs travel FREE on York Bus Coastliner services between York city, Leeds and the coast at Whitby The buses stop at the park entrance.
If you’re planning on eating out, there’s two dog friendly pubs nearby, the The Fox Inn on Stockton Lane or The Walnut Tree in Heworth.
York Castle permits dogs and is also the starting point for Dick Turpin’s Dog Walk.
York Castle Museum and Gaol only admits guide dogs.
Dogs are welcomed at York Museum Gardens along the riverside at Lendal Bridge. Only guide dogs may be taken inside the York Museum buildings.
A popular riverside walk starts at Skeldergate Bridge (close to Coppergate bus-stop) along the River Ouse and into Rowntree Leisure Park. From there it’s a short distance to York Racecourse (Knavesmire) where you can let your dogs run freely (except on racedays).
Do please remember dogs are not permitted on any elevated part of the York City Walls.
