Autumn Lights; Illuminations & Fireworks in York 20 Nov 2021

Autumn Lights Fireworks York

Autumn Lights, the autumn illuminations and fireworks event, returns to York’s Elvington Airfield, 20 November. Its organisers promise a huge fireworks display, a ‘night glow’ by hot air balloons (weather conditions permitting) as well as ‘Light performers’ and a Street Food Village.

The site opens from 2pm. Autumn Lights are offering both ‘drive-in’ and ‘park and walk’ tickets. Drive-in visitors will have an individual parking ‘bay’ and can bring their own camping chairs to watch the displays. Prices and ticket purchases are available from the organiser’s website here.

Elvington Airfield, formerly RAF Elvington, is the home of the Yorkshire Air Museum. It houses a large collection of military and civilian aircraft on a base preserved as an operating WW2 air station. Elivington is 6 miles from York Caravan Park along the B1228 Elvington Lane. You’ll find this off the A64 roundabout close to the caravan park. Normally, the journey time is 12 minutes, though anticipate long queues entering the Autumn Lights event.
