Bring your dog free to York Caravan Park – 2017

Dog friendly Caravan Holidays at York Caravan Park

Dog owners will be glad to know that 1 dog comes free of charge with our 2017 inclusive price list, making it easier for guests to bring their dogs on caravan holidays in York. York Caravan & Camping Park is just 2 miles from York City centre, but our country setting makes us an ideal caravan site for holidays with dogs. The park has a fenced dog walk and large grassed areas around our fishing lake. Dog waste bins are located around the site for guests’ convenience. But can you find dog friendly attractions, as well as dog friendly cafes/pubs in York and North Yorkshire?
Here are some useful sources of information:

  • In addition to our own dog-walk, the Millenium Way footpath is close to York Caravan Park entrance.
  • The nearest dog friendly pub for eating out is The Fox Inn on Stockton Lane.
  • Dogs now travel free on York Bus Coastliner services.
  • York Castle and City Walls permit dogs. York Castle is also the starting point for Dick Turpin’s Dog Walk. Do try it. York Castle Museum only allows guide dogs inside.
  • Dogs are welcomed in York Museum Gardens on the riverside at Lendal Bridge. Only guide dogs may be taken inside York Museum.
  • Another riverside walk starts at Skeldergate Bridge (close to Coppergate bus-stop) along the River Ouse and into Rowntree Leisure Park. From there it’s a short distance to York Racecourse (Knavesmire). Here you can let your dogs run freely (except on York racedays).
